The royal family<\/a> didn\u2019t forgo Prince Harry <\/b><\/a>and Meghan Markle<\/b><\/a>\u2019s baby daughter Princess Lilibet<\/a>\u2019s second birthday, despite not making a public statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere is no and has never been protocol for wishing happy birthdays to non working members of the royal family,\u201d a source told Us Weekly <\/i><\/a>on Monday, June 5, adding, \u201cthe Palace did not snub Lilibet.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The 2-year-old celebrated her birthday with her parents and brother Archie on Sunday, June 4. There was no public message from her grandfather, King Charles III<\/a>, <\/b>stepgrandmother, Queen Consort Camilla, <\/b>nor from her uncle and aunt, Prince William <\/b><\/a>and Princess Kate<\/a>.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n One year prior, however, Buckingham Palace paid tribute to the young princess\u2019 first birthday, with the late Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s official Twitter releasing the statement, \u201cWishing Lilibet a very Happy [first] birthday!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The late queen \u2014 who was the longest reigning British monarch in recorded history \u2014 died in September 2022 at the age of 96.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Fans of the British royal family aren\u2019t too shocked at the news that the king, 74, his wife, 75, William, 40, and Kate, 41, didn\u2019t send a public note to Harry, 38, and Meghan\u2019s immediate family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In early May, only the Duke of Sussex attended his father\u2019s coronation, sitting in the third row rather than next to his brother and sister-in-law in the first row at Westminster Abbey. Shortly after the ceremony ended, Harry swiftly left London and returned home to California. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
