{"id":213331,"date":"2025-12-27T07:11:18","date_gmt":"2025-12-27T07:11:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/entertainment.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/27\/the-cure-guitarist-perry-bamonte-dead-at-65\/"},"modified":"2025-12-27T07:11:18","modified_gmt":"2025-12-27T07:11:18","slug":"the-cure-guitarist-perry-bamonte-dead-at-65","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entertainment.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/27\/the-cure-guitarist-perry-bamonte-dead-at-65\/","title":{"rendered":"The Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte dead at 65"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"byline\">\n<p>        <time itemprop=\"datePublished\" content=\"2025-12-27\" datetime=\"1766819478\" pubdate=\"\">27 December 2025<\/time>\n    <\/p>\n<p>The Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte has died.<\/p>\n<p>                            <\/p>\n<p class=\"image-caption landscape\">The Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte dead at 65<\/p>\n<p>The 65-year-old musician passed away over Christmas, following a short illness, according to a statement from the band. <\/p>\n<p>A message on The Cure\u2019s website stated: \u201cIt is with enormous sadness that we confirm the death of our great friend and bandmate Perry Bamonte who passed away after a short illness at home over Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQuiet, intense, intuitive, constant and hugely creative, \u2018Teddy\u2019 was a warm hearted and vital part of the cure story. \u2018Looking after the band\u2019 from 1984 through 1989, he became a full time member of The Cure in 1990, playing guitar, six string bass and keyboard on the Wish, Wild Mood Swings, Bloodflowers, Acoustic Hits and The Cure albums, as well as performing more than 400 shows over 14 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe rejoined The Cure in 2022, playing another 90 shows, some of the best in the band\u2019s history, culminating with the show of a lost world concert in London 1st November 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cOur thoughts and condolences are with all his family.
