\t\t<\/p>\n David Spade<\/strong><\/a> is looking back on the joke he made 30 years ago that sparked longtime tension with Eddie Murphy<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The 61-year-old comedian discussed the situation with fellow Saturday Night Live<\/strong><\/a><\/em> alum Dana Carvey<\/strong><\/a> on his Fly on the Wall<\/a><\/em> podcast.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n For context, in 1995, David<\/strong> made the joke during a \u201cHollywood Minute\u201d sketch where he said, \u201cLook children, it\u2019s a falling star, make a wish,\u201d as a photo overlay of Eddie<\/strong> showed on-screen. Eddie<\/strong> later criticized the joke as \u201cracist.\u201d<\/p>\n David<\/strong> says they have since reconciled and recently met up again at this year\u2019s SNL50<\/em> special.<\/p>\n \u201cWe talked a little bit and everything\u2019s fine, and then he admitted on the show \u2014 not admitted, they just asked him about it \u2014 and he said, \u2018Yeah, we\u2019re all good.\u2019 So we\u2019re all good,\u201d the Tommy Boy<\/em> actor said.<\/p>\n Before that, David<\/strong> said they had \u201cbumps in the road,\u201d and it was surreal to go from being a \u201csuper fan\u201d to feeling like the Beverly Hills Cop<\/em> star \u201chated\u201d him overnight.<\/p>\n \u201cI made fun of him and it didn\u2019t go well, and he called me and we had it out,\u201d David<\/strong> said on the podcast. \u201cActually, he had it out. I didn\u2019t fight back really, because I did feel a little guilty about it, and he did make some sense. I just didn\u2019t like that because he was a hero.\u201d<\/p>\n Today, they\u2019re back on good terms.<\/p>\n \u201cEddie<\/strong>, he just totally let it go,\u201d David<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n
