This film is an updated take on <em>The Invisible Man,<\/em> and the special effects used to make <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/kevin-bacon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Kevin Bacon<\/strong><\/a> disappear are still impressive 25 years later.<\/p>\n<p>Bacon plays Dr. Sebastian Caine, the leader of a scientific team including his ex-lover, Linda McKay (<strong>Elisabeth Shue<\/strong>), and her secret boyfriend, Matt Kensington (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/joshn-brolin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Josh Brolin<\/strong><\/a>). When faced with the premature end of their experiments, Caine convinces his team to use his invisibility formula on himself as the first human trial. It works like a charm until they try to make him visible again. And Caine\u2019s newfound power quickly goes to his head as he realizes that an invisible man can do almost anything without fear of repercussions. Especially if he\u2019s feeling murderous.<\/p>\n<p><em>Hollow Man<\/em> is streaming on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/60000893\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Babylon\u2019 (2022)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BABYLON | Official Trailer (2022 Movie) \u2013 Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Tobey Maguire\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5muQK7CuFtY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/babylon_2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Rotten Tomatoes Score: 57 percent<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Damien Chazelle<\/strong> had such a great track record with <em>La La Land<\/em> and <em>Whiplash<\/em> that it was stunning when <em>Babylon<\/em> failed to connect with either audiences or critics. It\u2019s a big swing that chronicles the waning years of the silent era in Hollywood and the beginning of motion pictures as we know them today. If the three-hour-plus runtime is too much for you, just watch the movie in smaller installments. It may actually play better that way.<\/p>\n<p>There is a large cast to keep track of, but only three lead characters. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/brad-pitt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Brad Pitt<\/strong><\/a> plays Jack Conrad, a superstar in silent films who realizes that his career may not last as the transition to sound begins. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/margot-robbie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Margot Robbie<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Nellie LaRoy would be a star in any era in Hollywood, and her self-destructive streak is also very familiar to anyone who\u2019s ever seen an actor or actress crash and burn. Jake Harper (Sudeikis) and Elaine \u201cLainey\u201d Dalton (Brie) are long-time friends, first-time lovers and sex addicts in this film. After drifting away from each other following their college graduation, Jake and Lainey encounter each other again in a support group and reestablish their bond.<\/p>\n<p>Even while Jake dates Paula (<strong>Amanda Peet<\/strong>) and Lainey has an affair with Dr. Matthew Sobvechik (<strong>Adam Scott<\/strong>), they just keep gravitating back to each other. What Jake and Lainey have may fall short of love, but it\u2019s enough to sabotage their respective relationships as they try to figure out what they want.
