Where He\u2019s From<\/h2>\n Lovell is originally from upstate New York and attended Cornell University. According to a 2016 interview with the University of Michigan\u2019s alumni newsletter, he initially planned to go to medical school before realizing his passion lay elsewhere. He pivoted toward writing and literature, later earning his MFA from the University of Michigan. After graduating, Lovell even taught undergraduate fiction writing at the school \u2014 a far cry from where his career would eventually land.<\/p>\n
His Career<\/h2>\n Lovell\u2019s path into media was anything but traditional. He once shared that he \u201clucked into a magazine job\u201d at Harper\u2019s Bazaar after a friend passed along an opportunity.<\/p>\n

Today, Lovell is the executive editor at Pineapple Street Studios, owned by Audacy \u2014 the same company behind Poehler\u2019s 2023 scripted comedy podcast, Say More with Dr? Sheila.
