\t\t<\/p>\n Russell Brand<\/strong><\/a> is being charged with more counts of rape and sexual assault.<\/p>\n The 50-year-old comedian and podcaster has been accused by two more women in addition to the five charges brought forward by four women in April<\/a>, according to police.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Russell<\/strong> was previously charged with two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault, and pled not guilty.<\/p>\n He is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates\u2019 Court on January 20, 2026 regarding the two additional charges, Sky News<\/a> is reporting.<\/p>\n His trial related to the five original charges will take place on June 16, 2026.<\/p>\n Detectives started investigating him around two years ago after the Channel 4 and Sunday Times<\/em> investigation, per Deadline<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n The BBC, Channel 4 and Big Brother<\/em> producer Banijay all led internal probes after the investigation, leading to apologies and more revelations. The BBC discovered he allegedly \u201cjoked about\u201d<\/a> exposing himself to a woman in a bathroom. Channel 4 found \u201ctwo new worrying allegations.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n In 2023, he was also accused in a lawsuit of sexually assaulting<\/a> an extra on the set of the 2011\u2032s Arthur<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe women who have made reports, including those connected to the two new charges, continue to receive support from specially trained officers. The Met\u2019s investigation remains ongoing, and detectives urge anyone affected by this case, or anyone with information, to come forward and speak with police.
