Jessica Simpson<\/strong><\/a> and her estranged husband, Eric Johnson<\/strong><\/a>, are on good terms one year after their split.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re not considering getting back together, but they have love and respect for each other,\u201d a source exclusively tells Us Weekly<\/em>, shooting down a recent report that the former couple are working toward reconciling their romance.<\/p>\n

The insider explains that Simpson, 45, and Johnson, 46, \u201care in no rush to file for divorce,\u201d as they are \u201cfocusing on their kids right now and will always put them first.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair, who wed in July 2014, share three children: daughters Maxwell, 13, and Birdie, 6, and son Ace, 12.<\/p>\n

Simpson announced in January that she and Johnson were \u201cliving separately\u201d<\/a> while \u201cnavigating a painful situation\u201d in their 10-year marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them,\u201d she added in a statement to Us<\/em> at the time. \u201cWe are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since then, Simpson has staged a musical comeback, releasing a two-part EP titled Nashville Canyon<\/em> that featured songs about \u201cunholy matrimony\u201d<\/a> (\u201cLeave\u201d) and \u201cempty\u201d promises<\/a> (\u201cFade\u201d).<\/p>\n

Despite the emotional lyrics hinting at their marital breakdown, Simpson and Johnson have continued to put on a united front, attending her sister Ashlee Simpson<\/strong>\u2018s Las Vegas residency kickoff<\/a> in August and even spending Thanksgiving together<\/a> in November. The source tells Us<\/em> that the duo also plan to celebrate Christmas as a family at Jessica\u2019s mom Tina Simpson<\/strong>\u2018s home.<\/p>\n
