Lucas Bravo<\/strong> has several upcoming projects<\/a> that inspire him as an actor after expressing frustration with how stagnant his role on Emily in Paris<\/em><\/a> has become.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have some great, great projects lined up \u2014 I\u2019m booked until next December,\u201d Bravo, 37, told People<\/em><\/a> on Sunday, December 21, about what he is looking forward to after season 5 of Emily in Paris<\/em> was released on Netflix.<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cSo I honestly can\u2019t wait to get to those projects, because I\u2019m getting into a lot of diverse, crazy challenging roles, and I\u2019ve been waiting for that for a long time. I\u2019ve been working hard to get here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bravo rose to fame playing Gabriel on Emily in Paris<\/em> when it debuted in 2020. Since then, Bravo expanded to film roles in Ticket to Paradise<\/em> and The Honeymoon<\/em>. He recently made headlines after questioning his story line<\/a> on Emily in Paris<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSeason 5 of Emily in Paris featured an engagement, breakups and an update on Lucas Bravo\u2018s missing character Gabriel \u2014 but what about everyone else? Netflix released season 5 on Thursday, December 18, which picked up after Emily (Lily Collins) chose to explore a future with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) in Rome. Their professional and personal [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIn season 1, there was a lot of me in him. But as they made him kind of unaware of his surroundings, of the dynamic, always victimizing and always being completely lost in translation and oblivious to anything that is happening around him and being manipulated by everyone, it kind of became not fun for me to shoot,\u201d he told IndieWire<\/em> in October 2024. \u201cOr to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole. I really grew apart from him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bravo even hinted that he might step away from Emily in Paris<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes me question if I want to be part of season 5 \u2014 because my contract ends at season 4. I really want to see if Gabriel gets back to his fun, cheeky, playful, alive self,\u201d he continued. \u201cBecause three seasons playing melancholic, sad, depressed and lost is not fun anymore. It\u2019s a comedy, everybody is having fun around me, everybody is jumping around, and I\u2019m just slowly sinking into God knows what.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bravo ultimately signed on to appear in season 5 after Netflix renewed the series. At the time, a source spoke to Us Weekly<\/em> about what Bravo\u2019s frustration meant for Emily in Paris, saying, \u201cThe show is Emily in Paris \u2014 not Gabriel in Paris. Everyone is so upset about the remarks he made. There is going to be a lot of tension.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bravo, 36, has played Gabriel, the hot, French chef neighbor and love interest to Lily Collins\u2019 Emily, since season 1. He reprised the role for season 4, which premiered on Netflix in August 2024, but [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Gabriel was ultimately absent from most of season 5. Creator Darren Star<\/strong> said the new installment of episodes<\/a> has \u201cthe right amount\u201d of Gabriel.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe really wasn\u2019t consulted [on Gabriel\u2019s season 5 arc], and he just chose to come back to the show,\u201d Star told Decider on Friday, December 19. \u201cThe story line worked out.\u201d<\/p>\n
