Influencer <\/span>Claudia Oshry<\/b> is getting back on weight loss drugs once again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Oshry, who has been open about her usage of GPL-1s for weight loss in the past, stopped taking them during her pregnancy and while breastfeeding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, she has excitedly announced her return to taking the medication in a new Instagram post.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the video, Oshry is seen with cabbage placed in her bra, a home remedy to help dry up breast milk supply.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, she reached into the fridge to pull out the GLP-1 medication known as Zepbound.\u00a0<\/span>Oshry captioned <\/span>the video<\/span><\/a> simply, \u201cWAR IS OVER.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In the comments, Oshry\u2019s fans congratulated her on the milestone she has long waited for in her motherhood journey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, excited for you,\u201d one fan commented on the post. <\/span>\u201cYESS QUEEN GET THAT BODY,\u201d another chimed in.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Oshry welcomed her first child, Reuben, with her husband, Ben Soffer<\/strong>, back in May.\u00a0<\/span>The couple announced the news via a <\/span>joint Instagram post<\/span><\/a> on May 24.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThings I did? That. \ud83e\ude75,\u201d Oshry said in the caption, next to a picture of her holding the baby in the hospital with her husband standing beside them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Because the widespread use of GLP-1 medications is still fairly new, the effects of utilizing them during breastfeeding are largely unknown.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have no data on what that would do to a newborn infant if these [drugs] are transmitted through breast milk,\u201d Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, an obesity medicine physician at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and an associate professor of medicine and pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, shared with <\/span>TODAY.com<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t see that as safe because these medications haven\u2019t been tested in a population that\u2019s that young.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

However, a small <\/span>study published in 2024<\/span><\/a> tested eight participants\u2019 breastmilk while they took the weight loss drugs and found that no semaglutide made its way into their breastmilk.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the fact that the 2024 study was very small, there are also still no definitive studies as to whether taking GLP-1 medications while breastfeeding will result in less nutritious breast milk due to the mother\u2019s decrease in caloric intake.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the <\/span>medication guide<\/span><\/a> for Zepbound, the specific GLP-1 that Oshry is taking, the manufacturer still maintains that it \u201cmay pass into your breast milk\u201d and instructs users to \u201ctalk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby while using Zepbound.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
