Jillian Lauren was shot by police after pointing a handgun at officers outside her home on April 8, according to an April 9 press release from the Los Angeles Police Department. The release noted that Lauren, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cThe officers ordered [Lauren] to drop the handgun numerous times. However, she refused,\u201d the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement at the time. \u201c[Lauren] then pointed the handgun at the officers and an officer-involved shooting occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lauren allegedly ran into the home after being shot in the arm, with police later recovering a 9-millimeter handgun from the property. The author was arrested for attempted murder and eventually released from custody on a $1 million bond.<\/p>\n
