But if you compare the pace of consumer spending across AI apps, Grok came the closest to matching ChatGPT\u2019s cumulative revenue at the same point, once it began monetizing. But AI apps can generate revenue in other ways, including through developer offerings and, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/ai\/code-suggests-that-openai-may-be-close-to-introducing-ads-for-chatgpt-172511090.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">perhaps soon for ChatGPT<\/a>, ads.
