\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Sharon Stone<\/strong><\/a> is looking back on the moment she was downgraded from being a movie star.<\/p>\n While speaking during THR<\/em>\u2018s Raising Our Voices event<\/a> last week, the 65-year-old actress recalled being \u201cdropped\u201d from Hollywood after suffering a stroke in 2001.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n During her speech at the gala, Sharon <\/strong>spoke about how following her stroke, she was mostly forgotten from the business.<\/p>\n \u201cI, too, am a person that has a diversity issue,\u201d she started<\/a>. \u201cI had a stroke in 2001, I had a 1 percent chance of survival, I had a 9-day brain bleed.\u201d<\/p>\n Sharon <\/strong>went on, saying that she \u201crecovered for 7 years, and I haven\u2019t had jobs since.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhen it first happened, I didn\u2019t want to tell anybody because you know if something goes wrong with you, you\u2019re out. Something went wrong with me \u2014 I\u2019ve been out for 20 years. I haven\u2019t had jobs. I was a very big movie star at one point in my life,\u201d she stated. \u201cDiversity can mean more than one thing. Diversity can be an injury, diversity can be the color of your skin, diversity can mean standing up for yourself. If you are diverse, you must demand a position in this business.\u201d<\/p>\n In another recent interview, Sharon <\/strong>opened up about pay disparity in the industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
