Jennifer Lawrence<\/strong><\/a> has never pretended to be perfect, but her latest confession about accidentally taking Ambien on the Hunger Games<\/em> set<\/a> reminds Us just how real she is.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also once took an Ambien in the morning, thinking it was something else,\u201d Lawrence, 35, told Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong><\/a> during the Wednesday, December 17, episode of Variety<\/em> and CNN<\/em>\u2019s Actors on Actors<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

She recalled, \u201cIt was a dance scene with [the late] Philip Seymour Hoffman<\/strong><\/a> on the second Hunger Games<\/em> movie. I was hallucinating.\u201d (Lawrence first played Katniss Everdeen in 2012\u2019s Hunger Games<\/em>, based on the Suzanne Collins<\/strong> novel of the same name.)<\/p>\n

Lawrence remembered having to say lines<\/a> during 2013\u2019s Hunger Games: Catching Fire<\/em> and having no \u201cmemorizational\u201d skills while on the drug.<\/p>\n

Lionsgate ordered the movie The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping at the same time author Suzanne Collins announced the book about Haymitch Abernathy was on the way. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cElizabeth Banks<\/strong><\/a> got really annoyed with me because maybe she didn\u2019t know I was on an Ambien,\u201d Lawrence revealed. \u201cBut, I kept asking the director, \u2018And wait, what does this mean? Wait, and what does this mean? What does that mean?\u2019 She just threw her sides and was like, \u2018Fine, let\u2019s just keep talking about it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Lawrence and DiCaprio, who were costars in 2021\u2019s Don\u2019t Look Up<\/em><\/a>, both let out a laugh over the funny incident \u2014 and it wasn\u2019t the only time Lawrence had a drug mixup that impacted her career.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou and I are both obsessive about sleep when we\u2019re working, like, counting the hours,\u201d Lawrence told DiCaprio, 51, while recalling a separate movie mishap. \u201cWhen I was doing Red Sparrow<\/em>, I took an Adderall instead of a sleeping pill, and then I didn\u2019t sleep all night.\u201d<\/p>\n

She recalled \u201ctaking hot showers\u201d and \u201cpanicking\u201d about the mistake. \u201cI am not somebody who can function without sleep,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd then I had to say [the phrase] \u2018Senate Armed Services Committee\u2019 in a Russian accent. That sucked.\u201d<\/p>\n

DiCaprio joked that Lawrence\u2019s revelations were \u201ckey screwups\u201d in her career.<\/p>\n

Despite hallucinating on the second Hunger Games<\/em><\/a>, Lawrence continued to play heroic and fierce leader Katniss in two more films: Hunger Games: Mockingjay \u2014 Part 1<\/em> and Part 2<\/em>, which hit theaters in 2014 and 2015, respectively.<\/p>\n

The Oscar winner<\/a> revealed in June 2023 that she was open to reprising the role when the right project came along.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, my God \u2013 totally! If Katniss ever could ever come back into my life, 100 percent,\u201d Lawrence told Variety<\/em><\/a> of potentially playing the character that made her famous again.<\/p>\n

Two years later, Lawrence\u2019s dreams of a Katniss comeback were confirmed.<\/p>\n
