Manifest<\/i><\/a>\u2019s final descent has the cast just as emotional as Us\u00a0\u00a0\u2014especially Josh Dallas<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we did the final table read, I was in tears the whole time,\u201d\u00a0the 44-year-old, who stars as Ben Stone on the supernatural hit, told\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter\u00a0<\/i><\/a>in an interview published\u00a0shortly\u00a0before the second half of season 4 premiered on Netflix\u00a0on Friday, June 2. \u201cIt\u2019s twofold, right? It\u2019s bittersweet because we\u2019re saying goodbye to these characters and this world, and also to the TV family we\u2019ve created, the crew and everyone we\u2019ve worked with for the past five years. It was charged.\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0Once Upon a Time<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>alum added: \u201cBut as far as the ending, Jeff [Rake<\/strong><\/a>, the show\u2019s creator] has known how he wanted to end this story since the very beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n Dallas also noted that he\u00a0avoided learning how the story\u00a0would wrap\u00a0up<\/a> since filming the early episodes of the pilot, a sentiment that he has frequently shared amid the series\u2019 success.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know why you would want to know the answers until the episodes come on,\u201d the\u00a0Thor\u00a0<\/i>actor \u2014 who directed an early episode of\u00a0Manifest\u00a0<\/i>season 4<\/a> \u2014 previously told Hollywood Outbreak<\/a> in April 2021. \u201cI mean, that\u2019s part of the joy of following any story, whether it\u2019s on TV or in a movie or in a book. You don\u2019t want to know the end before you get there, and ultimately, once you get to the end, it\u2019s going to be so much more satisfying when you don\u2019t know the answers going into it.\u201d<\/p>\n Manifest\u00a0<\/i>\u2014 helmed by Rake, 56 \u2014 premiered on NBC in September 2018, starring Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh<\/strong>, J.R. Ramirez<\/strong>, Athena Karkanis<\/strong>, Luna Blaise<\/strong>, Jack Messina<\/strong> and Matt Long<\/strong>. The mystery chronicled the reappearance of an airplane five years after all passengers were declared missing. Amid their return, the\u00a0group \u2014 known as the\u00a0828ers\u00a0\u2014\u00a0received an array of \u201cCallings\u201d designed to help save both their own lives and the greater world.<\/p>\n Despite widespread\u00a0fan hype for\u00a0Manifest<\/i>, NBC canceled the show<\/a> in June 2021 after its third season ended. Netflix swooped in to save the drama<\/a> nearly two months later, ordering a super-sized final season. The first half of season 4<\/a> premiered in November 2022, followed by another 10 episodes on Friday.<\/p>\n While\u00a0the seasons-long mystery reached its conclusion on Friday, Dallas has plenty of follow-up ideas<\/a> to keep the universe alive.<\/p>\n \u201cI think there\u2019s major sequel or spinoff potential here,\u201d the Kentucky native \u2014 who shares two sons<\/a> with wife Ginnifer Goodwin<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 theorized to\u00a0THR.\u00a0<\/i>\u201cMaybe we go into the future and see Eden [Ben\u2019s youngest daughter] at 21 or so as she\u2019s navigating the world, or we follow the younger passengers.
