Kerry Katona<\/a> and her boyfriend are planning to donate toys over the festive season.<\/p>\n

Kerry Katona wants to help ‘people in need’ this Christmas<\/p>\n

The former Atomic Kitten<\/a> singer and her partner Paolo Margaglione \u2013 who she met on E4\u2019s Celebs Go Dating earlier this year – want to give back to “people in need” over around Christmastime.<\/p>\n

She wrote in her column for new! magazine: “Paolo and I are planning to buy some toys and deliver them where we can. I’m in a very fortunate situation but it hasn’t always been that way.<\/p>\n

“[My daughter] DJ and I were listening to Heart Radio recently and they had a little girl on who was really poorly. These things remind you to stay humble.”<\/p>\n

The AGe-year-old star reflected on her own Christmases as a child when she grew up with “nothing”.<\/p>\n

\nShe recalled: “I’ve been on the other side myself – I was in refuges as a kid. I’ll never forget getting rehomed. It was Christmas and we had nothing.<\/p>\n

\n“The refuge knocked on the door and donated corned beef and those smelly things for your knicker drawer.<\/p>\n

\n“Helping people in need is a must for me now.”<\/p>\n

\nKerry has daughters Molly, 24, and Lilly-Sue, 22, with first husband Brian McFadden, and Heidi, 18, and Max, 17, with second husband Mark Croft. <\/p>\n

\nShe also has 11-year-old daughter DJ, whose father is Kerry\u2019s late third husband, George Kay.<\/p>\n

\nAnd she revealed her kids “hate” one of her big Christmas traditions, which means they are “not allowed to open their presents until I’ve got a bin bag in my head”.<\/p>\n

\nShe explained: “Otherwise, I’ve got to walk around and pick all the wrapping paper up – it just annoys me and everything gets lost.<\/p>\n

\n“So before I’ve even seen what they’ve got, the wrapping paper is in the bin bag.<\/p>\n

\n“One of the kids even did a drawing of me once with a bin bag on Christmas morning. It looked like I was throwing their presents in the bin – I wasn’t!”<\/p>\n
