With perks like elite hotel status and airport lounge access, the American Express Platinum Card\u00ae<\/a><\/span> is one of TPG’s favorite cards for frequent travelers.<\/p>\n

That’s not all. The card also offers additional statement credits beyond travel perks, enhancing its value and offsetting the $895 annual fee (see rates and fees<\/a>).<\/p>\n

For instance, you can get up to $100 in Saks Fifth Avenue statement credits<\/a> awarded every calendar year \u2014 the first up to $50 from January to June and the other up to $50 in the second half of the year. (Enrollment is required.)<\/p>\n

This use-it-or-lose-it credit resets twice yearly, which means December is your last chance to use your credit for the last half of the year, if you haven\u2019t already.<\/p>\n

You can get even more value by making your purchases through one of the shopping portals that offer bonus cash back or points on Saks purchases. Currently, Rakuten<\/a> is offering 2% cash back on Saks purchases, and some airline shopping sites also offer bonus mileage awards<\/a> for Saks purchases.
