Keaton\u2019s cop friend was the first victim of the investigation and then Keaton himself got severely injured. Colter was driving Keaton to get medical aid when their car went off the road and flipped over multiple times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s pretty bad,\u201d executive producer <strong>Elwood Reid<\/strong> exclusively told <em>Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cThe situation we pick directly up in [episode] 10 is pretty dire. Part of the puzzle is [whether] Keaton [is] dead or is he alive? Based on Jeffery Deaver\u2018s novel The Never Game, Tracker centers around a survivalist named Colter who travels the country helping find missing people (or sometimes dogs) and solving cases [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s Tracker so I am sure Justin will be there for the rest of the episodes. But it\u2019s just fun to mess him up physically. There\u2019s some real benefit to that because he\u2019s human. One of the things that the network said early on is they don\u2019t want to be a superhero,\u201d he noted. \u201cI think that\u2019s what\u2019s fun about it. That was the way we entered this. What\u2019s the closest we could come and what is the worst situation we could put him in and see if he can get out of it \u2014 if he can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Based on <strong>Jeffery Deaver<\/strong>\u2018s novel <em>The Never Game<\/em>, <em>Tracker<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/justin-hartleys-tracker-casts-new-recurring-roles-after-multiple-cast-exits\/#:~:text=CBS&#039;%20hit%20series%20Tracker%20has,it%20premiered%20in%20February%202024.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">centers around a survivalist<\/a> named Colter who travels the country helping find missing people and solving cases others wouldn\u2019t. Also this show really just lives and dies with Justin\u2019s character \u2014 even when he\u2019s not kicking down doors or rescuing kidnapped kids. We\u2019re on this ride with this guy who\u2019s emotionally given his word that he\u2019s going to help these people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/tracker-ep-defends-multiple-cast-exits-teases-more-possible-changes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">there is room for Colter<\/a> to be out of commission for several episodes \u2014 there would be challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have any way of doing it outside of bringing in [his brother] Russell or something. I don\u2019t know how you would ever do it \u2014 nor would I want to do it,\u201d he noted. \u201cThe show works best when the audience is right over Colter\u2019s shoulder. It\u2019s almost claustrophobic in some ways, but there\u2019s something about the way that Justin portrays this character. Tracker, which debuted in 2024, introduced Us to survivalist Colter Shaw (Hartley) as he travels the country to help find missing people, track down information on criminal cases [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Reid promised that<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/justin-hartleys-tracker-is-hinting-at-a-spinoff-after-shocking-cast-exits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> the best is yet to come<\/a> this season. \u201cWe have some really fun cases,\u201d he teased. \u201cWe have a couple of really twisty emotional things that push Colter to an edge that causes him to go back to Echo Ridge to actually have a conversation with his mother. Then this mystery that we\u2019ve been teasing about Echo Ridge \u2014 that may or may not bring Russell back into the fold \u2014 is going to accelerate as we move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The screenwriter continued: \u201cHe\u2019s going to learn more things about the past and about his father. The thing that he struggles with a lot is, \u2018Was my father a good guy or a bad guy?\u2019 Maybe it\u2019s both. Same thing with his mom like, \u2018Is my mom a good person or a bad person?
