\t\t<\/p>\n Michael B Jordan<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about having the same name as one of the greatest NBA players of all time, Michael Jordan<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n The 38-year-old Emmy-nominated actor recently talked about sharing the name with the athlete affected him as a child and wanting to craft his own identity. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n While speaking with former Friday Night Lights<\/em> co-star Jesse Plemons<\/strong><\/a> for Variety<\/em>\u2018s Actors on Actors<\/a>, Michael<\/strong> was asked who his heroes were and this led into a conversation about the same name. <\/p>\n \u201cI always feel bad, because I didn\u2019t look up to a lot of people as a kid. My parents was my bar of how to do things,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I think having the name Michael Jordan<\/strong> as a kid affected things in a way that, in hindsight, I can talk about. But in the moment, I didn\u2019t really understand.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYour name is important. It\u2019s how you introduce yourself and how the world responds to you,\u201d MBJ<\/strong> continued. \u201cBut when there\u2019s another guy out there who\u2019s the guy, I think it created a healthy chip [on my shoulder]. Wanting to be competitive. Wanting your own identity in a way. I wanted to be great at something, and I didn\u2019t know what it was going to be. I just wanted to be great at it.\u201d <\/p>\n Jesse<\/strong> then asked if Michael<\/strong> ever asked why his parents gave him the same name as Michael Jordan<\/strong>, and he noted it\u2019s also his dad\u2019s name. <\/p>\n \u201cMy dad\u2019s older than Mike<\/strong>. So I had no shot,\u201d MBJ<\/strong> said. \u201cIt was all meant to be, real talk.\u201d<\/p>\n Jesse<\/strong> pointed out that the athlete was also \u201cnotorious for using that chip\u201d and it\u2019s working out for both of them, with Michael<\/strong> responding, \u201cHe\u2019s Michael A<\/strong>. I\u2019m Michael B<\/strong>. Look, man.
