Police are actively searching for a man connected to a violent stabbing that left his father-in-law dead and his mother-in-law in critical condition.<\/span><\/p>\n Officials report that emergency services were <\/span>called to a home<\/span><\/a> on East 69th Street in the Bergen Beach area shortly after 7:30 p.m on Thursday, December 11, according to ABC 7.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When they arrived, both victims had sustained multiple stab wounds and were rushed to Brookdale University Hospital. <\/span>Juan Manuel Galicia<\/b>, 49, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while his wife, also 49, remains hospitalized in critical condition.<\/span><\/p>\n As ABC 7 reports, investigators said the suspect reached out to a family member soon after the attack, telling them, \u201cI\u2019ve taken care of your parents.\u201d That family member then contacted another relative, who called 911.<\/span><\/p>\n Neighbors told Eyewitness News they were <\/span>shocked by the incident<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m shocked because this is usually a quiet, safe neighborhood,\u201d one resident said, admitting they didn\u2019t know much about the couple.<\/span><\/p>\n Authorities are urging anyone with information about the <\/span>suspect\u2019s whereabouts<\/span><\/a> to contact the Brooklyn Police Department immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n Authorities describe the suspect as a man in his early 30s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was reportedly last seen wearing a white hoodie and blue pants and is believed to have fled the scene in a blue Toyota SUV. He remains at large.<\/span><\/p>\n
