Charlotte Church doesn’t use deodorant<\/p>\n
The 39-year-old singer was taken by surprised when complimented on how she smells because she admitted she doesn’t use deodorant or shave her body hair because she is concerned about having “chemically stuff” close to her pores.<\/p>\n
After Walking The Dog podcaster Emily Dean told her guest she smelt “lovely”, Charlotte replied: “Do I? That\u2019s surprising. I never smell nice.<\/p>\n
“I don\u2019t wear any deodorant or anything, so I generally stink. I don\u2019t shave anymore. I don\u2019t shave anything.<\/p>\n
“I stopped shaving probably about 18 months ago, maybe even longer than that, maybe two years. <\/p>\n
\n“And I stopped wearing deodorant\u2026.I just started thinking do you know what? Like this underarm area, there\u2019s so many receptors there, lymph and all sorts of stuff going on there, I\u2019m just not sure about sticking all of this chemically stuff in these pores, cos your skin is so\u2026.you know, it\u2019s the largest organ in the body.<\/p>\n
\n“Everything we put on our skin goes into our bloodstream.’<\/p>\n
\n“Each to their own. Do you know what I mean? Crack on and have a lovely time and do whatever feels good – dye it, shave it, whatever – but for me I\u2019m just like, ‘Nah!’ “<\/p>\n
\nThe Crazy Chick hitmaker likes the “contradiction” of looking glamorous while flaunting her “really hairy legs”.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I sort of love it, I love the contradiction of it. So like I love wearing dresses, beautiful dresses, with my really hairy legs and heels and nails. It\u2019s so confusing for people.”<\/p>\n
\nCharlotte – who has Ruby, 18, and Dexter, 16, with former partner Gavin Henson and Frida, four, with husband Jonathan Powell – likes to wear low-cut dresses and has her “boobs out for the majority of time” because it makes her feel “much sexier” and helps her to understand people.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I\u2019ve got my boobs out for the majority of the time, because I think they\u2019re a great litmus test\u2026or ‘T**mus Test’ as my husband says. Cos it really separates out people who are\u2026yeah, it separates out the pervs immediately.<\/p>\n
\n“So you can immediately go, ‘Okay, well you\u2019re really struggling with looking at my face!’<\/p>\n
\n“But it also separates out those who are like maybe deeply conservative or deeply religious.<\/p>\n
\n“It\u2019s not necessarily that that\u2019s a bad thing or I need to mark out those people, nothing like that at all, but for me it helps with my discernment to have my cleavage out regular. <\/p>\n
\n“Do you know what, it\u2019s so liberating. Also in a way it makes me feel\u2026.it\u2019s just even more\u2026.I feel much sexier.”<\/p>\n
