Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders<\/strong><\/a> addressed a rumor that he wears a thong while playing in NFL games after a photo of his backside went viral.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s cut to the business, bro. Did you wear a thong or not?\u201d Shedeur\u2019s older brother, Shilo Sanders<\/strong>, asked him in a video posted to his YouTube page<\/a> on Tuesday, December 9.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shedeur, 23, who took over the Browns starting job last month, had an innocent explanation for his appearance in a game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, December 7.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou forgot I have a back injury, right?\u201d Shedeur asked Shilo, 25. \u201cSo I get my back taped. But that is crazy that it did look like that. That\u2019s funny, though.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Shilo responded, \u201cI know you wasn\u2019t wearing no thong. You wouldn\u2019t do nothing like that, right?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNah, bro,\u201d Shedeur said. \u201cThat was called back tape.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The post from NFL content creator Dov Kleiman<\/strong> that led to ThongGate garnered more than 5 million views via X<\/a> on Sunday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shedeur said he\u2019s been wearing something similar to a \u201cscuba suit\u201d under his jersey to deal with chilly weather conditions, which only complicated the appearance of the back tape.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know the shirt was short, so I was like, \u2018Hey, this will mess up my drip a little bit, huh?\u201d Shedeur recalled asking a member of the Browns\u2019 training staff. \u201cHe was like, \u2018Nah, fam. You good, bro.\u2019 And then after the game they be talking about, \u2018Man, I got on a thong.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The back injury didn\u2019t hamper Shedeur\u2019s performance against the Titans, a game in which Shedeur finished with 364 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, 29 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the Browns losing 31-29 to the Titans, Shedeur became just the second rookie in NFL history with at least 350 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in the same game, joining Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow<\/strong> in 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After Shedeur\u2019s impressive performance, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski<\/strong> announced that he would remain as the team\u2019s starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think [Shedeur] has constantly and consistently gotten better in each one of these games and how he\u2019s approached this game,\u201d Stefanski, 43, told reporters on Monday, December 8. \u201cHe\u2019s been working very hard. So, I feel good about where his development is heading. He knows there are always going to be plays that he can be better and those type of things, but he\u2019s very intentional about getting better each and every game he\u2019s out there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
