Andra Day had a “fun” interaction with Tom Cruise at the 2025 Governors Awards, where he was an honoree<\/p>\n

She talked about the encounter at the Ralph Lauren Holiday Experience \u2014 weeks later.<\/p>\n

Day praised the actor for his kindness and \u201cgenius.\u201d Andra says that Cruise\u2019s \u201cbody of work is incredible,\u201d but so was \u201chis person,\u201d which she says shone through as the actor navigated the star-studded Governors Awards.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Day not only raves about \u201chow sensitive and considerate he was of everyone in the room,\u201d but says Cruise\u2019s treatment of fellow guests acted as a \u201creminder\u201d to herself. <\/p>\n

\u201cI’m like, wow, you know what? It’s just a reminder. You can be a genius and be a kind human being at the same time, you know what I mean?\u201d she says.
