The Duggar<\/a> sisters were known to have a conservative look growing up, but now that most of them are married and have started their own families, they have been experimenting with a new sense of style.<\/span><\/p>\n In their 2014 book titled <\/span>Growing Up Duggar<\/span><\/i><\/a>, the reality siblings explained why they were raised with such strict rules when it comes to their dress code \u2014 noting it had to do with their traditional, religious values, and respecting the wishes of their parents, <\/span>Jim Bob<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Michelle Duggar<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Nowadays, <\/span>Jinger<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Jessa<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Joy-Anna<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Jill<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Jana<\/b><\/a> have started branching out with the way they present themselves \u2014 some more than others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In May, Jinger shared how she redefined her views on wearing pants<\/a> after not doing so for many years. \u201cMy mom had always dressed us girls in skirts and dresses, a standard that was taken from Deuteronomy 22:5, which says, \u2018A woman shall not wear a man\u2019s garment,\u201d the Los Angeles resident penned in a chapter of her new memoir, <\/span>The Hope We Hold<\/span><\/i>. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cModesty was a huge topic in our house, and we believed that wearing skirts instead of pants was a central part of being modest,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut I wanted to discover for myself what the Bible had to say.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Like her sister, Jill said she also changed her perspective on wearing pants while catching up with fans in a YouTube video shared in September. The <\/span>Counting On<\/span><\/i><\/a> alum said it was only after she started setting some \u201chealthy boundaries\u201d with her family. Jill admitted she was once wary of wearing a nose ring as well.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI kind of always thought they were cute,\u201d the mom of two continued. \u201cBut I think that some of the decisions<\/a> that we\u2019ve made \u2026 even if I liked something before, I wouldn\u2019t have done it because maybe of the backlash that I would get or something \u2026 from people close to me or something.
