If you\u2019re a fan of romantasy books, you\u2019re likely no stranger to the work of best-selling author <\/span>Callie Hart<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Hart has been successfully publishing romance books for over 10 years, but BookTok, the reading community on TikTok, has recently bolstered her success more than ever before.<\/span><\/p>\n On November 18, Hart finally released <\/span>Brimstone<\/span><\/i>, her highly-anticipated follow up to <\/span>Quicksilver<\/span><\/i>, which took BookTok by storm in 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n In the first book, the enemies-to-lovers romance follows Saeris Fane as she encounters and eventually falls for Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, in a Fae realm she never knew existed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hart sat down with <\/span>Life&Style<\/span><\/i> to discuss all things<\/span> Brimstone<\/span><\/i><\/a>, what\u2019s next for the <\/span>Fae & Alchemy<\/span><\/i> series, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere was a lot of information that still had to be revealed in book two,\u201d Hart explained. \u201cSo I was very excited to, you know, open that up from Kingfisher\u2019s point of view, especially because he obviously travels to Zilvaren. So we get to learn a lot more about the worldbuilding, you know, the scene setting of Zilvaren and through his eyes, which was really fun for me to write, and a different kind of take on telling that side of the story as well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Beyond the worldbuilding aspect, Hart was also, of course, excited to further explore Kingfisher and Saeris\u2019 romantic relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cObviously there\u2019s a huge deepening of their connection and their relationship as well; it\u2019s a massive piece of book two,\u201d she said. \u201cSo getting to interweave new magic, new settings, with this kind of like blossoming, this flourishing of their relationship, was just really, really exciting, and I\u2019m so glad that I got to share that with readers.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Now that the characters are well-established, diving even deeper into the main characters\u2019 relationship was an opportunity Hart had been waiting for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBeing able to explore [their relationship] and expand on it and really kind of peel back the layers and show the reader, like, you know, the love that they feel for each other and Kingfisher\u2019s vulnerability that I didn\u2019t get to share in book one, you know, those, those parts were really, really fun,\u201d Hart said.<\/span><\/p>\n The book is also packed with exciting reveals, many of which have to do with the laws surrounding the different types of magic that exist in the book\u2019s realms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Spoiler warning<\/strong> <\/em>for those who haven\u2019t read <\/span>Brimstone<\/span><\/i> yet, but the power of the Fae\u2019s \u201ctrue names\u201d is tied to an important reveal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cPeople were speculating about [the names] in book one, [and] where the Kingfisher\u2019s true name would be revealed,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd we did get that reveal in book two, which was really exciting.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to being available in print and ebook editions, <\/span>Brimstone<\/span><\/i> is also available in <\/span>audiobook format<\/span><\/a> through Spotify audiobooks for an even more immersive reader experience.<\/span><\/p>\n
