The weekend after Thanksgiving is not traditionally known for being a box office powerhouse, but Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2<\/b> helped give it a charge with a $63 million take. This is less than the $80 million the first film brought in during its opening weekend, but considerably more than was projected for the sequel, and on a $36 million budget.<\/p>\n
Zootopia 2<\/b>, which won last weekend, came in second with $43 million. The film has already pulled in $220.5 million domestically, and an astounding $915.8 million globally, setting it on course to hit well over a billion dollars at the box office in short order. <\/p>\n
Wicked: For Good<\/b> dropped precipitously by 73% after two weekends of release, bringing in only $15.6 million in its third weekend for a total domestic haul of $295.8 million. The legs are simply not legging the way they did for the first film, which brought in $36 million on the same weekend last year, and had made $322 million by this point in the run.<\/p>\n
In fourth place was Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution<\/b>, with a $10.1 million take in its opening weekend. Behind that was the fourth weekend of Now You See Me: Now You Don\u2019t<\/b>, which was good for another $3.5 million, bringing it to $55 million domestic.<\/p>\n
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair<\/b> brought in $3.2 million in 1200 theaters in its first weekend. This is the first time the films have been released as one, and despite the runtime, it’s drawing an audience. The filmed version of the Broadway show Merrily We Roll Along<\/b> also had its first weekend at the box office, bringing in $1.2 million on over 1,000 screens.<\/p>\n
Hamnet<\/b> is in its second weekend of limited release, having expanded to 744 theaters, and brought in another $2.3 million for a domestic total of $4.1 million. They are set to expand the awards-contending film to more theaters in the near future. <\/p>\n
