Tara Reid feels ‘judged and bullied’ after drink spiking allegations<\/p>\n
The 50-year-old actress had alleged she was drugged by a stranger after having just one drink at a hotel in Rosemont, near Chicago, on November 23, before being taken out on a stretcher and brought to hospital but police have insisted there is no video evidence of anyone \u201ctampering with or adding something to [Reid\u2019s] drink”.<\/p>\n
Tara told Us Weekly: \u201cI\u2019ve been honest about the fact that I don\u2019t remember anything after my first drink. All I said was that I felt something was wrong and that I felt I may have been drugged, because I have no other explanation for why I woke up in a hospital gown with no memory of how I got there. <\/p>\n
\u201cSeeing the media twist my words and attack me for not remembering has been incredibly painful and is severely affecting my mental health. I feel bullied and judged for something I cannot recall. I\u2019m trying to heal, but the public scrutiny is making that very difficult, and I\u2019ve been afraid to even leave my house.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one ends up in the hospital for around eleven hours from drinking wine alone. I hadn\u2019t taken any medication that day, and I know something wasn\u2019t right. Whether I had additional drinks after that doesn\u2019t matter, the fact is I don\u2019t remember anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTara went on to ask for \u201cprivacy, compassion and space to heal\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cI\u2019ve shared the only truth I have, what I remember, and what I felt.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn footage obtained by TMZ from the night, Reid was speaking incoherently and seemed to slip off a wheelchair in the lobby, and was helped back into the chair, before paramedics led her away on a stretcher.<\/p>\n
\nIn a police report filed at the time, Reid said she was in the lobby with “a bunch of” YouTubers, and “the whole thing felt suspicious” as most of them had “their phones out”.<\/p>\n
\nIn the report, she alleged that after stepping outside with one of the men, she returned to find “a napkin over my drink”.<\/p>\n
\nShe told officers: “Then the last thing I remember was drinking that drink and seeing a couple sitting next to us.<\/p>\n
\n“The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital around eight hours or more later not knowing where I was or anything that happened.<\/p>\n
\n“I completely blacked out with no recollection of anything.”<\/p>\n
\nThe Rosemont Public Safety Department previously told PEOPLE that surveillance footage didn’t “show anyone tampering with or adding something to [Reid\u2019s] drink”.<\/p>\n
\nThey did confirm “that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar which is standard practice for bartenders to do”.<\/p>\n
\nThe authorities added: “At this time there is no criminal act that has been committed and there is no one we are currently investigating”.<\/p>\n
