Amy Schumer<\/strong><\/a> has been candid over the past couple of years about her experience using weight loss drugs on her health journey.<\/p>\n In March 2025, Schumer explained that three years ago she tried GLP-1 medication Wegovy<\/a> \u2014 and did not have a pleasant time on it.<\/p>\n \u201cI was puking. I couldn\u2019t handle it,\u201d Schumer said in a video shared via Instagram. \u201cI don\u2019t know if they\u2019ve changed the formula, whatever. But anyway, I went on this Telehealth meeting with Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself \u2018cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers.\u201d<\/p>\n Schumer explained that they realized she was in premenopause and put her on \u201cestrogen and progesterone.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m talking about sex. So that\u2019s been great and Mounjaro\u2019s been great.\u201d<\/p>\n According to WebMD<\/a>, while Mounjaro is similar to other drugs such as Wegovy or Ozempic because they all contain GLP-1 that assists in weight loss, Mounjaro is specifically designed to help diabetes patients with weight management. Common side effects can include nausea and diarrhea.<\/p>\n Keep scrolling to see more about what Schumer has said about using GLP-1s:<\/p>\n Schumer revealed that she had tried Ozempic<\/a> \u2014 but stopped using it due to the negative side effects it had on her.<\/p>\n \u201cLike a year ago, I tried it. I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn\u2019t play with my son,\u201d the comedian explained during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI was so skinny and he\u2019s throwing a ball at me and [I couldn\u2019t].\u201d<\/p>\n Schumer realized that the effects were not \u201clivable\u201d for her \u2014 however, she \u201cimmediately invested because I knew everyone was going to try it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone has been lying, saying, \u2018Oh smaller portions.\u2019 Like shut the f*** up. You are on Ozempic or one of those things or you got work done. Just stop,\u201d she noted. \u201cBe real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo.\u201d<\/p>\n Nearly two years after revealing she tried Ozempic, Schumer opened up about the experience once again, noting that she also has a gene that makes her more \u201cprone to nausea.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI have this gene, GDF15, which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy,\u201d Schumer said on Howard Stern\u2019s<\/strong> SiriusXM show<\/a> at the time. \u201cSo, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago and I was like, bedridden. I was like, vomiting \u2014 and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they\u2019re all good. So, God bless them.\u201d<\/p>\n Schumer added that she \u201clost 30 pounds so quick\u201d on the drug.<\/p>\n \u201cI looked great, but I couldn\u2019t lift my head off the pillow.
