Miley Cyrus has opened up about her engagement<\/p>\n
The loved-up couple recently announced their engagement after four years of dating, and Miley has now shared details of Maxx’s proposal, revealing that he popped the question during a trip to Japan.<\/p>\n
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Miley shared: “I actually had never gone to Japan, which, I did that purposefully. I wanted one place in the world that could be my special place that I saved for me.<\/p>\n
“I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered. And I\u2019m telling you, I was so, so surprised.”<\/p>\n
Miley recently confessed that she’s become “more protective” of her love life.<\/p>\n
\nThe pop star loves that she’s been able to keep some aspects of her romance private.<\/p>\n
\nMiley – who was married to movie star Liam Hemsworth between 2018 and 2020 – told People: “The detail that I can share is that for us, our privacy and us kind of keeping it small has been something that I’ve been astounded that I’ve actually been able to have and being able to kind of have more choice.<\/p>\n
\n“I think it’s also being older, being more protective of what I’m open to sharing.”<\/p>\n
\nThe celebrity couple sparked engagement speculation earlier this week when they walked the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash. And Miley thinks the new movie is “about love, family resilience and kind of reconnection and that stronger together idea”.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “I thought it was kind of perfectly thematic and aligned with where I am in my life now.”<\/p>\n
\nMiley and Maxx began dating in 2021, and a source previously revealed that the loved-up duo were “very compatible with each other”.<\/p>\n
\nThe insider told Us Weekly: “It\u2019s a new relationship. They\u2019re still getting to know each other at the moment.<\/p>\n
\n“They\u2019re having fun and have been spending a lot of time together.”<\/p>\n
