Sydney Sweeney has opened up about her struggles<\/p>\n
\nThe 28-year-old actress moved from Washington to Los Angeles during her younger years in order to pursue her career ambitions, but Sydney admits that financial pressures ultimately took a toll on her parents.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, Sydney shared: “I was just doing anything that I could to have a resume built, gain connections, and make sure that my parents didn’t give up on me.<\/p>\n
\n“I was enjoying being a kid, but there was a lot going on in my life at that time, too. Growing up in a small town, when you come to Los Angeles, like most of you probably know, prices in Los Angeles are crazy. Not anything like where I came from.<\/p>\n
\n“My dad lost his job. My family filed for bankruptcy when I was 16. They filed for divorce, and I felt like a lot of it was my fault because I had brought them to the city [and] uplifted their entire lives, and I blamed myself for a long time.”<\/p>\n
\nSydney has enjoyed a meteoric rise over recent years – but she previously admitted that she’s still “navigating” fame.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress – who has starred in movies such as Anyone but You, Madame Web and Immaculate – told ES Magazine in 2023: “I think I\u2019m still navigating it on a daily basis because I want to be as authentic and genuinely open to the public and my fans as possible. And I think I am. <\/p>\n
\n“I talk a lot, I\u2019m very open and it\u2019ll probably be to my detriment, but I don\u2019t know how people can hide behind an image.<\/p>\n
\n“At the same time, I don\u2019t owe people answers.”<\/p>\n
\nSydney explained that she still wants to have her “own peace and private life”.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress – who ended her engagement to Jonathan Davino earlier this year – said: “I\u2019m a very private person when it comes to my family and relationships. I want people to know who I am as an individual but also, I feel that I should still be allowed to have my own peace and private life as well. <\/p>\n
\n“It\u2019s a weird balance – I\u2019m definitely still figuring it out.”<\/p>\n
