The Syracuse Orange<\/a> have a new player committed for 2026 and you might be familiar with his work.<\/p>\n

Rapper Toosii<\/strong>, known for his viral 2020 song \u201cLove Cycle\u201d and his 2023 single \u201cFavorite Song,\u201d announced via Instagram on Tuesday, December 2, that he has committed to play football for his hometown team next season.<\/p>\n

\u201cCOMMITTED \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffd For every kid who ever had a dream, make it reality,\u201d he wrote in the caption, alongside a carousel of photos of himself in his Cuse uniform. \u201cGod\u2019s will is the way and no one can stop it not even the devil. I wanna thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for even giving me the strength to chase what I believed when so many people told me I couldn\u2019t. Thank you to the people who supported me as well, it never go unnoticed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Toosii, whose real name is Nau\u2019Jour Grainger, grew up in Syracuse before moving to North Carolina at age 12. He said in his post that he has not been back since.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTravis Kelce is giving fans more insight into his decision to play another season with the Kansas City Chiefs. During the Wednesday, March 5, episode of \u201cNew Heights\u201d \u2014 cohosted by his brother, Jason Kelce \u2014 Travis, 35, opened up about why he didn\u2019t think it was the right time to retire. \u201cI think the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Now 25, Toosii played high school football<\/a> in Rolesville, North Carolina, and was listed as a 5-foot-6 wide receiver and kick returner as a junior in 2016. He did not appear on the school\u2019s roster, posted by MaxPreps, as a senior, though rosters on the high school sports website are often incomplete.<\/p>\n

On3, which covers football and basketball recruiting, now lists him as 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, and says he had offers from Maryland and Sacramento State as well. Toosii said he also had interest from USC and Duke, according to NBC Sports<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The rapper announced his commitment just hours after canceling a scheduled performance in Albany, New York, about 150 miles east of Syracuse. He was slated to play at the Just a Little Music Festival: Homecoming Edition on Saturday, December 6.<\/p>\n

Though Toosii has not returned to Syracuse since his childhood, it isn\u2019t for a lack of trying. He had four shows scheduled in his hometown between 2021 and 2023, but each was canceled<\/a> for various reasons. In one instance, he was set to perform with Lil Durk<\/strong><\/a>, who suffered an eye injury before the concert. Police axed another performance after allegedly receiving warnings of potential violence at the show.<\/p>\n
