Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Claire Wolford<\/strong> is silencing online critics<\/a> after she dutifully stood in for Reece Weaver<\/strong> on the sidelines amid an unexpected injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to jump on here and address something,\u201d Claire, 26, said in a Saturday, November 29, TikTok<\/a> video. \u201cI\u2019ve just seen a lot recently and have grown a lot myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire performed with the DCC squad earlier this month \u2014 stepping in for 23-year-old Reece after she got injured \u2014 for the first time in two years. (Clare retired from the team in 2023.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a very quick thing, and honestly, I\u2019m very proud of myself for doing that,\u201d she said of once again joining the squad on the field. \u201cThere were a lot of negative body-shaming comments. I just really hope people realize \u2026 I spent years of my life body-shaming myself, exercising and trying to fit a certain mold. I have healed from that and feel so much better where I\u2019m at.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are a legacy institution in the world of NFL cheerleading, and there are certain expectations for how potential athletes must behave if they want to join the ranks. The DCC\u2019s talent \u2014 under Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell\u2019s direction \u2014 has captivated public interest since 2006 during the inaugural run of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to Claire, the spiteful fan comments no longer affect her<\/a> personally.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou never know who you are triggering,\u201d she added, wiping away tears. \u201cThere are girls who see that and maybe are not the same \u2026 and it causes them to stumble and think about, \u2018Am I too big? Am I thick?\u2019 and all the words that were thrown out [about me]. Years ago, that would have thrown me into a spiral and sent me to the gym for hours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire continued, \u201cI just want people to realize, it\u2019s just not OK to comment on people\u2019s bodies. \u2026 There\u2019s a lot better things to talk about, and there\u2019s a lot more interesting things about people than their bodies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire further implored social media users to \u201cput a stop\u201d to all the \u201cnasty\u201d comments about her \u2014 and anyone else\u2019s \u2014 physical appearance.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust stop commenting on people\u2019s bodies, good or bad,\u201d Claire stated. \u201cTo be honest, [throughout the] majority of my DCC career, I worked out very hard, I ate well [and] all of my jobs were on my feet, and I was never going to be the skinniest person, and that\u2019s just not how I\u2019m built. That\u2019s fine; I\u2019m strong, I\u2019m athletic \u2014 and my body can do great things.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Claire admitted that she isn\u2019t able to hit the gym as regularly due to her demanding work schedules, she is still proud of her health.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so happy, like, I am making a lot of life decisions. There\u2019s a lot going on, and I feel great in my skin,\u201d Claire said. \u201cIt took me a long time to get here to this point, where I feel content.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile dancing for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is considered a prestigious honor in itself, it doesn\u2019t come with a salary to match. \u201cI would say I\u2019m making, like, a substitute teacher [salary],\u201d Kat Puryear said during the first season of Netflix\u2019s America\u2019s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. \u201cI would say I\u2019m making, like, [the same as [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
