Seeking Sister Wife<\/em>\u2019s Garrick Merrifield<\/strong><\/a> dropped a bombshell on his wives, Dannielle<\/strong> and Lorrana<\/strong>, in the season 6 finale amid his recent arrest.<\/p>\n

During the Sunday, November 30, episode of the TLC reality show<\/a>, Garrick, 40, told cameras that the \u201cplural\u201d family is actively seeking a third wife after he wed Brazil-born Lorrana in 2024. (The couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Sarah Mae, in July.)<\/p>\n

Garrick then took things a step further, telling his first wife, Dannielle, that she would have to legally marry the new addition to the family if they added a new wife from another country, citing Lorrana\u2019s U.S. citizenship status. (Garrick and Dannielle \u2014 who share three children \u2014 legally divorced in 2020 so Garrick could legally marry another woman, however, they remain together.)<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, if God had us to meet another woman from another country, truly our best option would be, Dannielle would have to marry to have her come here,\u201d Garrick said in a confessional interview with his wives beside him, per a clip published by Extra<\/em><\/a>. \u201cJust because we don\u2019t know how long it would take before me and Lorrana could get divorced where I could marry another woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dannielle seemed shocked by Garrick\u2019s revelation, saying, \u201cI wasn\u2019t aware of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, she can get a green card, but then it takes five to 10 years for her to actually become a citizen,\u201d Garrick explained to Dannielle.<\/p>\n

Dannielle then got teary-eyed as she said, \u201cI feel like it\u2019s more of a discussion I feel like we need to have. \u2018Cause I thought it was gonna be a couple of years for her adjustment of status and they could divorce,\u201d referring to Garrick and Lorrana.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t realize it would take so long and that that would be \u2026 you know, in the next year, if we\u2019re adding someone, that it would be on me to marry them from another country,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Lorrana also expressed some concerns about Garrick\u2019s desire to add a new wife to the plural marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know we live in the plural, but at the moment, I don\u2019t feel very comfortable looking for another wife now because it\u2019s all very new to me,\u201d Lorrana said using a translation app on her phone. \u201cHaving a baby and not having much time with Gar makes me a little worried.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garrick responded, \u201cI definitely totally understand where you\u2019re coming from and your feelings. I get it. But we are a plural family and I know it\u2019s a calling from God, and we have to be open to what he has. And if that is tomorrow or three months from now, I don\u2019t know, but I know that he\u2019s in perfect control and we have to keep seeking.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo for now, we\u2019re just gonna have to keep an open heart and mind to what God has,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Garrick\u2019s desire to seek a third wife during Sunday\u2019s season 6 finale comes amid news of his November 24 arrest on misdemeanor domestic violence and obstructing telephone service charges, the Chaffee County Sheriff\u2019s Office in Colorado told People<\/em> last week.<\/p>\n
