In the weeks leading up to his now 3-year-old daughter\u2019s birth, Post Malone<\/strong> told <\/span>People<\/span><\/i><\/a> in 2022 that major life shifts were already underway.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u201cI\u2019m excited for this next chapter in my life, I\u2019m the happiest I\u2019ve ever been, and for since I could remember I was sad,\u201d he said. \u201cTime to take care of my body and my family and friends, and spread as much love as we can every day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Malone has since been open about the progress he\u2019s made at the start of his wellness overhaul in 2022. He revealed on <\/span>The Joe Rogan Experience<\/span><\/i><\/a> in June 2024 that he\u2019s lost 55 pounds, dropping from 240 lbs. to 185 lbs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n And during a July 2023 appearance on <\/span>Mythical Kitchen<\/span><\/i><\/a>, he explained how becoming a father sparked his motivation to take better care of himself.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s definitely made me take better care of myself. I want to be around to see her go and do kick-ass stuff,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd before, you know, I was really drinking a lot and smoking a lot and stuff. I kind of took everything and toned it down a little bit and, you know, doing my best and really got my weight going.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And in April 2023, he addressed his fans directly on Instagram, crediting fatherhood for helping him change his habits.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and I\u2019d suppose, performance on stage. I\u2019m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI guess dad life kicked in and I decided to kick soda and start eating better so I can be around for a long time for this little angel. Next up is smokes and brews, but I like to consider myself a patient man\u2026 lol!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Malone has also spoken about the pressures that come with losing weight under public scrutiny.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cYou feel an inclination, almost, as a public figure, to have to justify something that you don\u2019t need to justify,\u201d he explained. \u201cFirst off, it\u2019s nobody\u2019s business. Second off, don\u2019t just f\u2014\u2014 assume everything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
