Dancing With the Stars<\/a> <\/i>pro Mark Ballas<\/strong><\/a> had been workshopping his and partner Whitney Leavitt<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s potential freestyle long before they actually debuted it on the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank this incredible team for all of their hard work, passion and relentlessness to help me bring this vision to life in under 72 hours,\u201d Ballas, 39, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Saturday, November 29, of performing the routine days earlier. \u201cI had this concept brewing for a while, made mood boards filled with imagery and inspiration. I had been working on the music arrangement for two weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballas and the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em> star, 32, were eliminated during the DWTS <\/i>season 34 semi-finals despite consistently topping the leaderboard throughout the season. Within weeks, the pair got the call to appear<\/a> on Alex Cooper<\/strong>\u2019s podcast and discuss their journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom that moment on, [my team and I] were firing on all cylinders and had to build it from total scratch from the choreography, venue, lighting, direction, cameras, dancers, hair, make up, wardrobe, props, art direction, production and editing,\u201d Ballas recalled, referring to the Broadway-style routine. \u201cThank you to @alexandracooper for inviting us to be on your show and for putting this whole thing together with ABC and DWTS<\/i>. You are an incredible interviewer. As someone who sometimes shies away from interviews you made me feel comfortable and relaxed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMark Ballas was not quite ready to say goodbye to the ballroom \u2014 and is ready to vie for the mirrorball trophy with Whitney Leavitt on Dancing With the Stars season 34. \u201cI had some injury stuff clear up that was kind of slowing me down,\u201d Mark, 39, exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, September [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ballas also thanked the DWTS <\/i>execs including Conrad Green, Deena Katz<\/strong> and Rob Mills<\/strong> for \u201ctrusting in [him] to bring this vision to life on such a big platform.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am extremely grateful,\u201d he gushed, going on to address Leavitt directly. \u201cWhat a wild ride, thank you for all your hard work, grit, determination and many belly laughs we shared. I\u2019m so proud of you and was so happy to share this experience with you.\u201d<\/p>\n
