\t\t<\/p>\n Prime Video<\/strong><\/a> is rounding out the cast for the upcoming Barbershop<\/em><\/strong> series!<\/p>\n Saturday Night Live<\/em> alum Punkie Johnson<\/strong><\/a> and The Daily Show<\/em>\u2018s Roy Wood Jr<\/strong><\/a> are among four new additions to the series regular cast, Deadline<\/em> reveals<\/a>. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Also new to the cast are On My Block<\/em>\u2018s Brett Gray<\/strong><\/a> and The Old Man<\/em>\u2018s EJ Bonilla<\/strong><\/a>, who all join previously announced Jermaine Fowler<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n The upcoming movie is based on the MGM movies, which starred Ice Cube<\/strong><\/a> and Cedric the Entertainer<\/strong><\/a>, among others. <\/p>\n The series will center on Jermaine<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cTravis \u201cTrav\u201d Porter, who endeavors to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, a legendary barber at the iconic \u2018Calvin\u2019s\u2019 barbershop in Chicago. And while the barbers are new, the shop remains just as lively, the customers just as argumentative, and the fades are still the dopest in the city \u2014 because at Calvin\u2019s, the community comes together for way more than just a haircut.\u201d<\/p>\n Punkie<\/strong> is set to play Stella, \u201ca no-nonsense barber who is skeptical of Travis\u2019 return.\u201d<\/p>\n Roy<\/strong> will star as Robert, \u201can ex con-turned-barber.\u201d<\/p>\n Brett<\/strong> stars as \u201cflamboyant and outspoken Kofi,\u201d and EJ<\/strong> is set to play Fernan, \u201ca Bronx-born barber who becomes an ally to Travis.\u201d<\/p>\n The co-writer of the original Barbershop<\/em> movie, Marshall Todd<\/strong>, serves as co-showrunner, writer and executive producer on the series with Max Searle<\/strong>.
