\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Elliot Page<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about the secret relationship that he had with Kate Mara<\/strong><\/a>, who was dating Max Minghella<\/strong><\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n The 36-year-old Oscar-nominated actor opened up about the relationship in his new book Pageboy<\/em>, which is being released next week.<\/p>\n \u201cThe first person I fell for after my heart was broken was Kate Mara<\/strong>. She had a boyfriend at the time, the lovely and talented Max Minghella<\/strong>,\u201d he wrote in the book (via an excerpt shared by People<\/a><\/em>).<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n While the relationship was a secret to the rest of the world, Elliot<\/strong> revealed that Max<\/strong> was supportive of the relationship and that Kate<\/strong> told him, \u201cI never thought I could be in love with two people and now I know I can.\u201d<\/p>\n Elliot<\/strong> said, \u201cThis was right after I\u2019d come out as gay [in 2014] and it was a time of exploration and also heartbreak.\u201d I think my relationship, or whatever you want to call it with Kate, very much encapsulates a certain dynamic that I consistently found myself in, which was falling for people that \u2014 I think a lot of us do this \u2014 who aren\u2019t fully available. And the sort of safety in that and the highs and the lows and the serotonin bump, and then it goes away. And I think that is definitely a pattern in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n Elliot <\/strong>and Kate<\/strong> remain close friends and she has already read the book. She will even join Elliot<\/strong> at a book launch event in Los Angeles!<\/p>\n \u201cI think the love and care that we have for each other is it\u2019s very own special thing. Separate from the intimacy that I write about,\u201d Elliot<\/strong> said. <\/p>\n Elliot <\/strong>and Kate <\/strong>played a couple in the movie My Days of Mercy<\/em>, which premiered at TIFF in 2017 and was released wide in 2019.
