Jessie J<\/strong><\/a> received her ex-boyfriend Channing Tatum<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s blessing to sneak a Magic Mike <\/i>reference<\/a> into her newest album.<\/p>\n

\u201cI played him the song to see if he\u2019s OK with it and he was,\u201d Jessie, 37, told The Guardian <\/i><\/a>in a Saturday, November 29, profile when asked about referring to Tatum\u2019s 2012 dance movie on her \u201cComplicated\u201d track.<\/p>\n

\u201cComplicated\u201d is one of the songs on Jessie\u2019s sixth studio album, Don\u2019t Tease Me with a Good Time.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201c2017 went by \u2019cause I wanted \/ 2018 to be mine and be honest,\u201d she sings. \u201cMet a Magic Mike, will that ever be forgotten? \u2018Cause everything they write \/ That\u2019s the headline and the topic.\u201d<\/p>\n

It felt that everything I read about myself was about him,\u201d the British singer recalled to The Guardian <\/i>about their then-relationship, going on to reveal where they currently stand. \u201cOh, he\u2019s so sweet. Oh my God, yeah! Channing is such a sweet guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cPrice Tag\u201d singer continued, \u201cWe were such good friends and had such a good time together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans have also theorized that there\u2019s another reference to Tatum on Don\u2019t Tease Me with a Good Time.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cKarma gonna come one day, yeah, \u2018Cause I gave you my love,\u201d she sings on \u201cThrow It Away,\u201d out now. \u201cYou threw it away \u2026 Don\u2019t you dare rewrite the story \/ I\u2019m the beauty, you\u2019re the beast \/ You can take your \u2014 and go now \/ Have a good time in these streets.\u201d<\/p>\n

While speaking with The Guardian, <\/i>she quipped that the fan theories claiming Tatum was the so-called beast<\/a> on the track were \u201cfunny.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tChanning Tatum fans were taken by surprise when he and his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan, called it quits on their nine-year marriage in April 2018, but the Magic Mike star went on to find love with songstress Jessie J six months later. Us Weekly confirmed in October 2018 that Tatum and Jessie were dating, and they [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYeah, I reckon there\u2019s probably a little bit of that in there,\u201d Jessie acknowledged. \u201cBut, it wasn\u2019t just about him. I dated a lot of people when I was in L.A. and there were lots of men who were, like, \u2018Yeah, ride on my motorbike and I\u2019ll show you around,\u2019 and then they just drop you off. That\u2019s the negative of L.A.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jessie lived in California for a decade before relocating back to her native England<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a really selfish, amazing life I had, but it wasn\u2019t the kind of life I could maintain with a child and a partner,\u201d she recalled. \u201cWhen I had [my son] Sky, I thought I didn\u2019t want to raise my son away from his immediate family. And my partner\u2019s Danish, so we wanted to be closer to Denmark, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jessie has been dating basketball player Chanan Colman<\/strong> since 2021, and they welcomed their son<\/a> two years later.<\/p>\n
