The newest episode of The Kardashians<\/em><\/a> offered a rare glimpse at Travis Barker<\/strong><\/a> and Kourtney Kardashian<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s infant son Rocky \u2014 and her parenting overall.<\/p>\n

During the Thursday, November 27, episode of the Hulu series, Kourtney, 46, invited \u201ccontroversial\u201d psychoanalyst and parent coach Erica Komisar<\/strong> to discuss her outlook on<\/a> attachment therapy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had seen lots of her videos on social media and I felt compelled to reach out to her because she really focuses on 0 to 3 years of age,\u201d Kourtney explained. \u201cShe says that that is the most important time developmentally for your child with attachment and being there for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kourtney was grateful for the insight after not always knowing how to approach motherhood. \u201cWhen I was 30, I had [my first son] Mason [with ex Scott Disick] and nobody told me what to do.,\u201d she said.I\u201d didn\u2019t read any books but the way that I felt my maternal instinct was to do attachment parenting.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality star did more research<\/a> before she had daughter Penelope, 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cI read the attachment parenting book and it was more intentional,\u201d she continued. \u201cEven though I was working, I didn\u2019t really think it was an option to not work. Now I have the option not to work and I feel grateful to be able to find what I connect to.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Kourtney acknowledged that the expert could be \u201ccontroversial,\u201d she defended her perspective.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think most of it is because people are like, \u2018Well, I can\u2019t just not work and I need to work. We need both mom and dad to work.\u2019 But I think her point is that she feels like our government should support moms and or dads to be home with their baby,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

Kourtney also reflected on her evolution as a mom<\/a> compared to mom Kris Jenner<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just heard something recently about how things that you do that are the opposite of your parents are you healing yourself from something that you didn\u2019t get that you needed,\u201d she said. \u201cI am a lot different as a mother than my mom was. She was definitely more controlling and still is. But it was the \u201980s then so it was a different time. To me, I\u2019m just like, \u2018Live your best lives.’\u201d<\/p>\n
