Mirrorball champs or not,\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a>\u00a0has featured some impeccable professional dancers in the years since the ABC competition series premiered in 2005. Derek Hough<\/strong><\/a>, Cheryl Burke<\/strong><\/a> and Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/strong><\/a> are among the talent who have lit up the ballroom.<\/p>\n Some of the show\u2019s stars went on to achieve major success in their careers while others opted to build thriving personal lives. Still, some maintain their roles as pros year after year, returning to the beloved job with their as-close-as-family castmates and vying once again for the title.<\/p>\n Julianne Hough<\/strong><\/a>, for one, is perhaps one of the biggest names to come out of the show. The actress won season 4 \u2014 her first as a pro \u2014 and season 5 with partners Apolo Anton Ohno<\/strong><\/a> and H\u00e9lio Castroneves<\/strong><\/a>, respectively. She left after season 8 to pursue other goals but returned as a judge for seasons 19 through 24 (with the exception of 22).<\/p>\n \u201cLook, never say never because you never know what one day will be from the next,\u201d Julianne told\u00a0Us Weekly<\/em>\u00a0in August 2019 of whether she would return to\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a>. \u201cBut I owe my career to that show! I was 18 and they brought me back in two different ways. I was a dancer, I was a judge and I\u2019m so happy for everything that\u2019s going on there.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, some of the show\u2019s stars leaned on each other when it came to making baby plans. \u201cA lot of them have come to me because \u2026 they liked how I scheduled [my pregnancy]<\/a> and how I could get back to work,\u201d Peta Murgatroyd<\/strong><\/a> revealed exclusively to\u00a0Us<\/em>\u00a0in October 2019. \u201cI think women nowadays definitely are wanting to work still and not just be a stay-at-home mom. They still want to have careers, they still want to be out there being successful.\u201d<\/p>\n The New Zealand native predicted \u201ca massive baby boom\u201d among the cast at the time. \u201cI think a lot of them are going to do it really soon,\u201d she explained. \u201cThey\u2019re all kind of on the verge of, \u2018Yes, let\u2019s do it now,\u2019 or, \u2018Let\u2019s wait another six months.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Lindsay Arnold<\/strong><\/a> and Witney Carson<\/strong><\/a> both sat out season 29 in 2020 while expecting. The Catch 21<\/em> star opened up in February 2021 about her desire to return to the ballroom<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s the goal,\u201d Carson exclusively told Us<\/em>. \u201cThat\u2019s what I\u2019m working toward. That\u2019s in the plans for now. So if anything changes, we\u2019ll just go with it, but that is in our sights for right now.\u201d<\/p>\n Ahead of the premiere of season 30 in September 2021, both Arnold and Carson were announced as returning pros.<\/p>\n
