She has my phone number. We\u2019ve been family for the last 13 years,\u201d Dos Santos Rodrigues told the <em>Globe<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand the policies and how it looks. But I also think when it comes to family, you put certain things aside. I don\u2019t care who you work for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis individual is the mother of Karoline\u2019s nephew, and they have not spoken in many years,\u201d a source close to the situation tells <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/family-of-karoline-leavitts-nephew-blasts-her-for-ignoring-ice-detention-of-bruna-ferreira\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Daily Beast<\/a>. \u201cThe child has lived full-time in New Hampshire with his father since he was born.
