Well, Bode seems to be doing more active swimming. Radley is learning to float, with assistance and even \u2014 for short periods of time \u2014 on his own.<\/p>\n
Audrey revealed that she is using Infant Swimming Resource as a self-rescue program. Essentially, if a kid \u2014 or even a baby \u2014 falls into a body of water, they can keep themselves afloat long enough for a parent to rescue them.<\/p>\nAudrey Roloff shared a video of 1-year-old Radley learning to turn and float in the pool. And she thoughtfully included a warning. (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nAs ISR teaches kids, they should flip onto their backs and float. It takes time and patience, but they can learn this life-saving skill.<\/p>\n
Audrey also advised her followers about the content that she was posting. \u201cIf this is triggering for you in some way, here is your warning to not watch the next story!\u201d she cautioned.<\/p>\n
The next story showed Radley floating on his own on his back. Though water did cover his face a couple of times, he did a fantastic job! And, of course, multiple <\/em>adults were present the entire time.<\/p>\nDuring a captioned Instagram video, Audrey Roloff walked around with 1-year-old Radley on the farm. (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cYes, yes, yes, go, go, go, oh my gosh that was so good! Wow!\u201d Audrey cheered on her youngest child as he floated.<\/p>\n
She revealed that he had learned to do this after only two weeks of training.<\/p>\n
No grown-up holding him. No little flotation wings on his arms. That his hard work for his little body, but he\u2019s doing it! And while this will hopefully <\/em>never come up, this could absolutely save his life one day.<\/p>\nAudrey Roloff\u2019s caption did not mention it, but her Instagram video showed a dangerous-looking crevasse on her treasured farmland. (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nObviously, it\u2019s great that Audrey and Jeremy\u2019s kids are learning vital survival skills.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not like they\u2019re being abandoned in the woods to forage or anything like that. For the record, that would be a horror<\/em>.<\/p>\nLearning to float on your back can save a child \u2014 or an adult \u2014 for vital seconds or minutes that someone would need to rescue them. If someone is physically and developmentally capable of learning, it\u2019s a good idea. You don\u2019t need to live near a beach or go to a pool for this to save your life.<\/p>\nAudrey Roloff conveyed her devout Christian beliefs in a caption while showing off how cute 1-year-old Radley is in this May 2023 video. (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nAdditionally, Audrey did the right thing by including a trigger warning.<\/p>\n
The term \u201ctrigger\u201d has been deliberately and maliciously bastardized into simply meaning \u201cenrage\u201d or \u201cupset.\u201d But that is not the term\u2019s meaning.<\/p>\n
When a combat veteran hears fireworks and their entire endocrine system goes into high alert as their body prepares to fight or die, they\u2019re not distressed or ideologically opposed to fireworks. They have PTSD, and the firework sounds have triggered them. <\/p>\nIn a video on Instagram, Audrey Roloff showed children Ember and Bode playing just before sunset. (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nOCD, disordered eating, and more can all include triggers. As can various anxiety disorders, including phobias.<\/p>\n
Someone with a debilitating fear of drowning might be triggered by an image of an infant floating on their back. Such a person might be unable to shower for a while. Someone with trauma of nearly drowning, by accident or in an act of violence, might feel similarly.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s great to remember that, for all of Audrey\u2019s various mistakes, she is not one-dimensional. There is a real compassionate and insightful side to her that she sometimes does not show to all of her fans.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
