Kate Hudson<\/strong><\/a> and Ginnifer Goodwin<\/strong><\/a> don\u2019t think a sequel to their 2011 romantic comedy Something Borrowed<\/em><\/a> is possible, which might be bad news for fans.<\/p>\n Goodwin, 47, joined Kate, 46, and her brother, Oliver Hudson<\/strong>, on the Monday, November 24, episode of the pair\u2019s \u201cSibling Revelry\u201d<\/a> podcast, which gave the former costars the opportunity to reflect on whether or not a sequel to the iconic rom-com could be possible.<\/p>\n \u201cI was saying to Ollie that I get asked about [a sequel] on the [red] carpet all the time,\u201d Kate told Goodwin. \u201cI was on the carpet not that long ago, and they were like, \u2018What\u2019s the movie that you would want to do the sequel [to]? And I was like, \u2018Well, Something Borrowed, we never got to do the sequel.\u201d<\/p>\n The movie was inspired by Emily Griffin\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> 2005 novel by the same name, which spawned a follow-up book called Something Blue<\/em>. While a sequel was a possibility back in 2016 \u2014 Griffin even told PopSugar<\/em><\/a> a script was in \u201cgreat, great shape\u201d at the time \u2014 Kate and Goodwin agreed that at this point, they\u2019ve aged out of being able to reprise their respective original roles as Darcy and Rachel.<\/p>\n Goodwin confessed that if the opportunity to make Something Blue<\/em> came to fruition today, she wouldn\u2019t be open to it. \u201cI would not want to go back and do Something Blue<\/em> at this point,\u201d she said, to which Kate replied, \u201cI mean, we\u2019re kind of too old.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cExactly, I remember \u2026 I had a monologue in Something Borrowed<\/em> [about] spiraling about turning 30. And I\u2019m like, I am gonna be 50 soon,\u201d Goodwin added. \u201cAnd what I would like is for her to write another book, where we are further on.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier in the conversation, Goodwin shared that her sons\u2019 friends at school have all learned the pair\u2019s iconic dance from the film. \u201cI get stopped for this movie all the time,\u201d she explained, \u201cAnd you remember, they wanted to cut the dance scene and people ask me about the dance scene constantly.\u201d (Goodwin shares Oliver, 10, and Hugo, 8,<\/a> with husband Josh Dallas<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n She continued: \u201cMy sons, their girlfriends at school, they\u2019ve been learning the dance. I\u2019ve got a bunch of 12 year olds\u2026 I show up, I\u2019m the assistant librarian when I\u2019m not doing other things. And I have shown up on campus and had the girls be like, Mrs. Dallas, look.\u201d<\/p>\n Though the movie\u2019s premise was dramatic and pitted the two women against one another (Rachel sleeps with BFF Darcy\u2019s fianc\u00e9, who she\u2019s been pining for since their law school days) the cast got along very well behind the scenes.<\/p>\nThank You!<\/h3>\n
