The man who rushed Ariana Grande has been deported<\/p>\n
Johnson Wen, who is known as Pyjama Man on Instagram, jumped a security barrier, rushed over to the Thank U Next hitmaker and put his arm around her before security and her co-star Cynthia Erivo intervened at the event on 13 November, and now according to the Straits Times, he was put on a plane out of the South East Asian country on Sunday (23.11.25).<\/p>\n
The English-language newspaper, which is based in Singapore, reports the prankster has also been barred from reentering the nation.<\/p>\n
Wen had been sentenced to nine days in jail after pleading guilty to one charge of being a public nuisance.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors had described Pyjamaman – who had previously carried out similar stunts with the likes of Katy Perry and The Weeknd – as a “serial intruder”, and a judge determined he had planned the incident in order to go viral on social media.<\/p>\n
\nThe red carpet crasher had hinted about his plans before the premiere.<\/p>\n
\nHee said: “I feel like I’m in a dream. <\/p>\n
\n“That’s my best friend Ariana Grande and I’m going to meet her. I’ve been dreaming about that.”<\/p>\n
\nHe was arrested but later took to Instagram to “thank” Ariana.<\/p>\n
\nSharing a video of the incident, he wrote: “@arianagrande @wickedmovie Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You [heart emoji]”<\/p>\n
\nFollowing the incident, he wrote on his Instagram Stories: “I’m free after being arrested.”<\/p>\n
\nCynthia was praised for her quick reactions to the gatecrasher, who she pushed away from Ariana and recently explained she acted instinctively in order to protect her pal.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on Today, the 38-year-old star said of the incident: “I was really thinking, I just wanted to make sure my friend was safe.<\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m sure he didn\u2019t mean us harm, but I just, you never know with those things and I wanted to make sure that she was okay. That was my first instinct.”<\/p>\n
\nCynthia previously touched on the incident when she reflected on the bond she and Ariana share.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking at a special Screen Actors Guild screening held at the Television Academy in Los Angeles, she said: “What’s even more wonderful is the fact that there are other people who have seen themselves in this movie, in that character, and also now see themselves and feel safe. <\/p>\n
\n“That, for me, is the pinnacle of what I could ever wish for from any piece of work I have ever done. And I am so glad that in order to do it, I had to look into the eyes of this person beside me.<\/p>\n
\n“And we have come through some s***. We have come through some stuff in our lives, in our daily workings.<\/p>\n
\n“I mean, f***, even this last week. Let’s be honest, for f**’s sakes, we’ve had to really deal with some stuff, and this movie has allowed us to really grow as people, as friends, as sisters, as artists, as actresses.”<\/p>\n
\nAs Cynthia spoke, Ariana nodded her head, but when she started talking about the incident in Singapore, the singer stared straight ahead before eventually growing tearful.<\/p>\n
