Eva Longoria became a mom when she was aged 43<\/p>\n
The 50-year-old actress felt she had achieved “everything” in her illustrious career, and could now shift her focus to bringing up Santiago, seven, with her 57-year-old husband, Jose Baston.<\/p>\n
Eva told The Sunday Times’ Culture Magazine: “You have so much more wisdom and patience when you become a mother in your 40s. <\/p>\n
“It was all about me for so long. 40 years of me was enough time, so I was really blessed to have my child later in life because I had travelled, I\u2019d done everything I needed to do for my career. <\/p>\n
“Now everything I do is just icing on the cake, and I get to do that with my son.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Desperate Housewives alum will only agree to roles if it is fulfilling because her family comes first.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “My family is my priority, so if I\u2019m saying yes to something and it\u2019s taking time away from them, it\u2019s got to be something I\u2019m really going to enjoy and people I really want to work with.”<\/p>\n
\nEva – who was previously married to the late actor Tyler Christopher (2002\u20132004), and 43-year-old former professional basketball player Tony Parker (2002\u20132004) – and Jose were introduced by mutual friends in 2013, and he popped the question to her during a romantic getaway to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in 2015.<\/p>\n
\nIn 2016, they tied the knot in front of 200 guests during their sunset garden ceremony on May 21, 2016, at his lakeside home outside Mexico City.<\/p>\n
\nAnd Eva – who is stepmom to Jose’s daughter Natalia and twins Mariana and Jose, from a previous relationship – feels lucky to have him in her life.<\/p>\n
\nThe Christmas Karma actress gushed: “I\u2019m busy and my career is very important to me, but I\u2019m really fortunate that I met my match in that.<\/p>\n
\n“He\u2019s totally supportive of my dreams and my goals and what I want to get done.”<\/p>\n
\nThe star – who is preparing for her latest directing project, Netflix comedy series The Fifth Wheel – said the secret to their long marriage is that Jose puts up with her.<\/p>\n
\nShe quipped: “My husband puts up with me, that\u2019s the secret. Find somebody who\u2019s going to put up with your s***!\u201d<\/p>\n
