Amanda Seyfried<\/strong><\/a> is ready to head back to Greece \u2014 and she already has the dream cast in mind.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe I\u2019m just naive, but I\u2019m pretty sure \u2018Mamma Mia 3\u2019 is a done deal,\u201d Amanda told Entertainment Tonigh<\/em><\/a>t in November 2024, adding that she\u2019s eager to revisit Sophie as a mom this time around. \u201cI love portraying a mom, so I would love to see Sophie with her kids. Maybe she has a cousin she hasn\u2019t seen in a while, and that could be Sabrina Carpenter<\/strong><\/a>. And then Sydney Sweeney<\/strong><\/a> could show up. There\u2019s a bunch of girls that really want to be a part of it, and I\u2019m all for it.\u201d<\/p>\n While Universal hasn\u2019t officially announced the movie, creator and producer Judy Craymer<\/strong> has confirmed that a script exists. According to Amanda, the gang is more than ready to reunite. \u201cI just know the three dads are going to come back, and we still won\u2019t know who the dad is because it doesn\u2019t matter. Meryl [Streep]<\/strong> is a ghost, obviously, so she\u2019ll be around. And Julie [Walters]<\/strong> and Christine [Baranski]<\/strong> will be back singing and looking hot and we\u2019re all going to be somewhere tropical. And ABBA will be playing.\u201d<\/p>\n Back in September, Amanda also weighed in on the franchise\u2019s future while speaking to Deadline<\/em> at the Toronto International Film Festival. \u201cIt is, yes,\u201d she said, before adding cautiously, \u201cI think.\u201d She explained that scheduling has always been the biggest hurdle, even pointing out that 2018\u2019s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was greenlit in place of Wicked at the time. \u201cThey could only do one big movie at that time, so we ended up slotting into that. So, it\u2019s about silly things like that.\u201d<\/p>\n Judy Craymer echoed that sentiment while speaking to Deadline earlier this year. \u201cWe know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen,\u201d she said. \u201cWe brought together this amazing group of movie stars that were all connected through it and huge friendships evolved.\u201d<\/p>\n For Judy, a third film is about more than nostalgia. \u201cIt\u2019s not about sequels or redoing stuff. It\u2019s about people engaging with characters,\u201d she explained. \u201cThe movie is important for me creatively more than anything. But also because I think the world needs another fun experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
