Also, this guy was completely sober.

They were able to make it back to the city the next day, and while she couldn’t wait to have a drink, she started to feel dizzy “in a way that felt dangerous” after getting home that night.

Jaimie noted how she tried to ignore her intuition and have a drink anyway, she just couldn’t bring herself to drink and went to bed.

The next morning when she woke up for work, she went about her day as normal, but as the day went on, she started “feeling irritable and unsteady.” That night, she tried to workout and halfway through her trainer told her she was off balance and looked even more pale than usual.

When she got home, she tried to drink again before bed but couldn’t and went to sleep. The next morning, however, she felt worse, now with a stomach ache lingering, but continued on with her routine.

She asked the on-set nurse for Tums to help, and when that didn’t work, the nurse tried to massage her stomach, but that also did not help. However, they tried the tums and massaging for hours after, but by lunch time, she could no longer stand up and the pain had spread.

A doctor was then called and she recalled him “asking me if I had ovarian cysts, implying a possible rupture,” to which she replied no. She was then driven to her OB-GYN office, which was close by and “that’s when the contractions started,” and she was experiencing the worst pain she’s ever had.

Her doctor figured out what was wrong, and told her driver to rush her to the nearest hospital.

“Your appendix is rupturing. If they don’t remove it right away, I’ll come do it myself,” she recalled him saying.

Jaimie then went on to detail her experience in the hospital, with them telling her that her appendix fully ruptured and she was entering sepsis, needing emergency surgery.

She recalled thinking she knew she was dying and not feeling afraid of that anymore, followed by hearing a voice and having a conversation with that voice about whether she felt like she was ready to die or not.

This led to her telling the voice that she thinks she’s supposed to stay but there’s something else she has to do. The voice told her, “Then you can never drink again.”

After this, she had a moment of clarity and felt joy about really coming to terms with her alcoholism, and promised she would never drink again.

Jaimie recalls only spending five days in the hospital after surgery and once she was able to walk well enough, asked if her new boyfriend could help with her sobriety and he suggested going to a meeting.

She notes how what she thought was the worst thing to happen to her turned out to be the best thing, and it was “exactly what I needed to become aware of how I was living and what I needed to do to change so that I could have a shot at reaching my full potential.”

Since then, she has been completely sober and closed her post by sharing that if you’re in a rough spot, you don’t have to go through it alone.

You can read Jaimie‘s full post HERE!

Source link

Jaimie Alexander is opening up about her sobriety and the near death experience that started it.
