Alongside a red heart, the actor added, \u201cSorry. I tried.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a subsequent message, the star made it clearer that he\u2019s referencing Ballerini, as he wrote, \u201cI\u2019m sorry for those who believed in us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Yikes<\/em>, huh?<\/p>\n (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cIt is what it is,\u201d Stokes continued. \u201cOnwards and upwards.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 33-year-old\u2019s VERY cryptic posts arrived two months after Kelsea\u2019s rep confirmed to E! News she and Chase had called it quits\u2026 only for the two to spark reconciliation rumors when Ballerini visited Stokes on set in Dubrovnik, Croatia, for Outer Banks\u2019 final season on November 7. <\/p>\n
Within days, the pair added fuel to the romantic fire when a video of them dancing in the streets of the European city went viral.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter they got up, they walked together hand in hand towards Old Town. They looked very cute,\u201d an onlooker told People Magazine at the time.<\/p>\n
Perhaps it was just a moment of weakness, however.<\/p>\n

Indeed, it wasn\u2019t until the following month that Chase coyly told People Magazine they were simply \u201cspending some time together.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe is just the most genuine human being you will ever meet,\u201d he gushed to People in April 2024. \u201cShe has time for everybody, which is such an admirable trait. She\u2019s incredibly present. When you are with that human, you know you are getting her.\u201d<\/p>\n
The public eventually learned that Ballerini slid into her Chase\u2019s DMs at the time. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never seen his show,\u201d she explained the Call Her Daddy podcast. \u201cBut I just knew of him, and I just swan dove right on in.\u201d<\/p>\n
