Apple could have a pretty big Worldwide Developers Conference next week, according to Bloomberg<\/em>\u2019s Mark Gurman. In addition to the rumored mixed reality headset and the usual updates to its operating systems, Gurman is expecting Apple to focus on \u201cseveral\u201d new Macs at the show, he said in a tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Gurman has already reported that a MacBook Air with a larger 15-inch screen and M2 chip is in the works<\/a>, and it seems possible that could be one of the stars of the WWDC show. Apple revealed the redesigned M2-equipped 13-inch Air at last year\u2019s WWDC<\/a>, so it\u2019s not out of the realm of possibility that Apple would once again use the event to introduce a larger Air.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n After we first published this article on Wednesday, Gurman reported<\/a> that Apple is testing \u201ca pair of new high-end Macs\u201d with the M2 Max chip and an unannounced M2 Ultra chip. Gurman\u2019s report indicates that these computers could be new versions of the Mac Studio, and given that the Mac Studio is more than a year old<\/a> and has configurations with M1 Max and M1 Ultra chips, it seems possible that Apple is working on revised versions of that machine. And Apple will begin taking trade-ins on the same day as the WWDC keynote for the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air, 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro, and \u2014 wouldn\u2019t you know it \u2014 the Mac Studio, according to Gurman<\/a>. To me, that all feels like evidence that the Mac Studio may get a refresh.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Gurman has also reported on Macs with an as-yet-unannounced M3 chip, including MacBook Airs and, perhaps more notably, the iMac, which hasn\u2019t been refreshed since the launch of the M1 iMac in May 2021<\/a>. However, Gurman said in March<\/a> that the iMac might not ship until the second half of the year, so if it does make an appearance at WWDC, you may not actually be able to buy it for a little while. (I also doubt that Apple would introduce M2- and M3-equipped computers during the same event.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n We\u2019re also still waiting for a Mac Pro with Apple silicon<\/a>, which missed Apple\u2019s self-imposed two-year deadline<\/a> to transition all of its Macs from Intel. The closest hint we\u2019ve had about that machine is from March 8th, 2022, when hardware chief John Ternus said the company would share more about an Apple silicon Mac Pro \u201canother day.\u201d<\/a> Gurman said in his Wednesday report that the M2 Ultra was originally designed for a new Mac Pro, but the computers in testing seemingly differ from Apple\u2019s Mac Pro refresh.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Fortunately, we don\u2019t have to wait long to see what Apple has cooking: its WWDC keynote is scheduled for 1PM ET \/ 10AM PT on Monday, June 5th.
