Mary Bonnet<\/strong><\/a> revealed she has an \u201ciron clad\u201d prenup with Romain Bonnet<\/strong><\/a> after being \u201cburned\u201d by her ex-husband.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very for prenups,\u201d Mary, 45, said during the Monday, November 17, episode of the \u201cTrading Secrets<\/a>\u201d podcast, explaining that she had to \u201cfile bankruptcy\u201d after her ex-husband \u201ctook everything\u201d from her and \u201cran up a bunch of credit\u201d in her name.<\/p>\n

The Selling Sunset<\/em><\/a> star noted that when she married Romain<\/a>, 32, in March 2018, she made sure to cover herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause our situation has changed quite a lot since the beginning of the show and when Romain and I got married. We have additional things to [our prenup],\u201d Mary said, explaining that the purchase of their house was an amendment to their initial paperwork.<\/p>\n

The Netflix personality\u2019s first-ever book, Selling Sunshine: Surviving Teenage Motherhood, Thriving in Luxury Real Estate, and Finally Finding My Voice, was officially released on Tuesday, September 24. Bonnet wrote candidly about being a teen mom, detailed the ups and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mary told podcast host Jason Tartick<\/strong><\/a> that she is \u201cvery fair\u201d with all of her postnuptial amendments as well, even though she \u201cput down the money\u201d for their house.<\/p>\n

\u201cI make more money and Romain is fine with that, he doesn\u2019t care. He contributes,\u201d the real estate agent<\/a> shared. \u201cPeople were saying he\u2019s a gold digger. He contributes and always wants to. He\u2019s a very stubborn man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mary said that she doesn\u2019t think Romain would \u201cever try and take my money,\u201d but if that changes their prenup will protect her.<\/p>\n

\u201cBasically it states that any money that I put into the house<\/a> comes back to me first if we sell it. Then he gets an amount that we both decided was fair when we were in love and a good place,\u201d she explained, adding that she wanted to have their agreement outlined while they were \u201cin love\u201d so that they both had their \u201cwits about\u201d them and didn\u2019t just want to \u201cdestroy the person\u2019s life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asking prices with so many zeros on, you don\u2019t even know how to say them out loud. Colleagues who spend more time flirting, fighting and eating in moodily lit small-plate restaurants than they do actually working. It\u2019s fair to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mary revealed that with her \u201cpretty iron clad\u201d legal agreement, both she and Romain would \u201ctake out\u201d whatever they walked into the relationship with.<\/p>\n

The reality star<\/a> also said that the couple have separate bank accounts as a way to protect herself against past mistakes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will not do that again. I was burned,\u201d Mary said of having a joint bank account, noting that Romain has \u201cno problem\u201d with keeping their money separate.<\/p>\n

As fans of Selling Sunset<\/em><\/a> know, Mary is a force to be reckoned with in the Los Angeles real estate industry.<\/p>\n

She told Tartick, 37, that she \u201cgot lucky\u201d during her first year in the industry, selling three homes when most new agents work all year to sell just one. Mary couldn\u2019t remember the exact commission she brought in that year, but recalled the Hermosa Beach, California, property selling for $2 million.<\/p>\n
