Jessa Duggar released her own book<\/a> of a similar nature.<\/p>\n\u201cThis is a book about me and my spiritual journey, a journey of disentangling truth from lies,\u201d Jinger said in a November YouTube video announcing this plan. <\/p>\n
\u201cIn it, I share stories from my life \u2014 stories that nobody saw while the TV cameras were rolling: stories of fear and uncertainty but also of discovery and hope.\u201d<\/p>\n (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nJill and Derrick, meanwhile, wrote on Instagram that their book \u201cis meant to reflect a story that has been difficult, yet hopeful.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe challenges we have faced, including lack of respect for boundaries, greed, manipulation, and betrayal, are not that much different than what many people in our audience have faced,\u201d they said this week. <\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, 15+ years of reality television, undergirded by secrecy and lies, is tantamount to pouring gasoline on the fire of our struggle.\u201d<\/p>\nJill Duggar ponders a sip of this hot coffee in this photo of the former reality star. \u201cThough we would have never chosen this path, and it has cost us dearly, we want to use our voice to show others that there is hope beyond the pain.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jill\u2019s book announcement comes two days before the release of Amazon\u2019s Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets docuseries, which explores the Duggar family\u2019s ties to The Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP).<\/p>\n (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cThere are so many thousands of families that have been hurt by this and have not had a voice, not for lack of trying, for many, many, many years,\u201d Olivia Crist, one of the program\u2019s executive producers, told People Magazine. <\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, hope, the takeaway is really hearing the survivors, hearing what they\u2019ve been through. <\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then, I think also for people still in, trapped in a fundamentalist or IBLP group, that hopefully this is a chance for them to say, \u2018Hey, it is possible to get out and that they\u2019re not alone.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
